CANLAON CITY, NEGROS ORIENTAL — Demonstrating the power of collective action and compassion, the Bacolod Business Community (BBC) recently conducted a relief mission to Canlaon City following the impact of Typhoon Tino. The initiative aimed to support affected families by providing essential supplies and encouragement as communities begin their recovery journey.
In response to the challenges brought by the typhoon — including property damage, disrupted livelihoods, and displacement — BBC mobilized its network of members, volunteers, and supporters to gather relief goods and coordinate distribution efforts. The team traveled to Canlaon City carrying food packs and basic necessities intended to help ease the immediate burden faced by local residents.
Upon arrival, volunteers worked closely with community members to ensure an organized and efficient distribution process. Families received assistance with gratitude, highlighting how timely support plays a vital role in helping communities stabilize after natural disasters.
The relief effort underscored the collaborative spirit behind the mission. The Bacolod Business Community extended sincere appreciation to all donors, partners, and individuals who contributed goods, resources, and logistical assistance, recognizing that the outreach was made possible through shared generosity and community unity.
BBC also expressed special thanks to Camille and her family for their participation and meaningful support during the initiative, reflecting the personal commitment of individuals who stepped forward to help others in need.
Beyond providing material aid, BBC representatives emphasized that the visit served as a message of solidarity. By showing up in person and engaging with residents, volunteers reinforced that Canlaon City communities are supported and remembered during this recovery period.
The outreach highlights BBC’s ongoing commitment to community development and social responsibility. As a network dedicated not only to business growth but also to meaningful civic engagement, the organization continues to leverage its collective capacity to respond to humanitarian needs across the region.
As rebuilding efforts continue, initiatives like this relief mission offer both practical assistance and renewed hope — illustrating how partnerships, volunteerism, and generosity can create a positive impact in times of adversity.
LA CARLOTA CITY — In the aftermath of Typhoon Tino, which brought heavy rains and flooding across parts of Negros Occidental, the spirit of community solidarity once again took center stage. Residents of Roberto S. Benedicto (RSB), La Carlota City, who were among those severely affected, received timely assistance through a relief initiative organized by Bacolod Business Community.
The typhoon left many families displaced and facing immediate challenges, including limited access to safe drinking water as floodwaters contaminated local sources. Recognizing this urgent need, Bacolod Business Community members quickly mobilized to provide support.
On November 7, 2025, the group arrived in RSB carrying hundreds of bottles of mineral water along with bags of bread for distribution to affected residents. The relief effort was led by Samuel John Solon of Sam’s Slim Gym, Miguel Brito of Didto Bistro, Jedrick Go and Jerwin Go of Cyber Motorbikes, Glifan Kim Delicana of Mr Kim Coffee, Jade Fruitbat Tolentino of Fruit Bat Batty Bits, and Jenny Buan.
The team was assisted by Mrs. Angie S. Gelongo, RSW, camp coordinator and department head of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWD) of La Carlota City, whose support helped ensure the aid reached families most in need.
According to Bacolod Business Community President Samuel John Solon, the initiative was made possible through the generosity and quick response of numerous donors within the community. Contributions from business owners and members allowed the immediate purchase of mineral water, enabling a rapid and coordinated response to the situation.
The donation provided practical and meaningful relief to residents. For many families, access to safe drinking water eased one of the most pressing concerns following the flooding. Community members expressed gratitude for the assistance, highlighting how the support helped protect their families’ health and well-being during a difficult time.
While recovery efforts continue for those affected by Typhoon Tino, the outreach by Bacolod Business Community stands as a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity. Through collaboration, generosity, and shared responsibility, the organization continues to embody the enduring Filipino value of Bayanihan—proving that in times of hardship, no community stands alone.
On September 6, 2025 at the Brgy. Villamonte Gym, the Bacolod Business Community (BBC) gathered not for profit, but for purpose — serving more than 300 children and 200 adults through a meaningful feeding and outreach program. The initiative brought together volunteers, community leaders, sponsors, and partners in a shared effort to extend care, nourishment, and encouragement to local families.
BBC expresses sincere appreciation to the community leaders who supported and stood alongside the organization: Brgy. Captain Rommel Flores, Federation Purok President Junjun Aligonsa, Purok Hervias Dos President Boyet Lanojan, Kagawads Coscolluela, Loplop, Delfinado, SK Chairman Mailum, and community partners Amy Dilag, Marial Cecile Cadafan, Jonathan Flores, and Olive Lanojan.
Special recognition is also given to Bacolod Business Community members Bernie Sagloria, Glifan Kim Delicana, Luigi Rom Corpuz, Fredie & Fritzie Escollar, Jedrick Go, Jenny Buan, Namae Custodio Garcia, Auldey Mar Raquin, Maritoni Go, Jerwin Go, Ems Jaena, Danilo Ortega Peñaverde Jr., Avon Joy Castillo, and Shane Bernarte, led by BBC President Samuel John Solon and Vice President Jose Miguel Brito whose vision and commitment continue to inspire community-centered initiatives.
This outreach was made possible through the generosity of dedicated sponsors and partners including Rufrance LPG, Cyber Motorbikes, I.T. Geek Solutions, Amatella Sizzling House, Mr. Kim Coffee, Jinky’s Kitchen, Ziedie’s Mushroom Farm, Wow Kimchi Land, AG Auto Batteries, Didto Bistro, Sam’s Slim Gym, NIJI, Struktura, Dan’z Transport Services, Apolstation, Ultinerv, MCKL Trading & Allied Corporation, Uncle Rick’s Pizza, Diintaofficial, SJE Development Corporation, Team Magug, HLM Foods Corporation, Garcia Hardware and Construction Supplies, Councillor Wilson Jun Gamboa, along with several generous donors who chose to remain anonymous.
Together, this collective effort once again proved that business can be more than profit — it can be purpose, compassion, and community in action.
